† How were you introduced to the art of “cute cooking”?
I have always been fascinated with the cute & yummy-looking cakes at a pastry shop near my house, since High School days. Even though back then, they looked much simpler as compared to what we see today. Sadly, that pastry shop has closed down. But my interest in “cute cooking” continued growing after visiting a chocolate factory during my Hokkaido trip in 2007, which has the chocolates in all sorts of really cute, lovely designs!
† Where did you find this cute creation?
In a neighbourhood pastry shop, during Mooncake Festival in 2007.
† What is it made of? How does it taste?
A traditional mooncake, with the outer golden brown flaky layer made from dough and sweet lotus paste as the filing inside. It tasted sweet (but not too sweet) and soft enough to chew.
† Any other comments or tips?
The serving size is just right and sure beats eating the normal kind of big mooncake which often leaves one feeling over-stuffed.
